CARMEL, CALIFORNIA - 5 DAY MASTERCLASS
WITH CAPTURE INTEGRATION & ALPA ESCAPES
* EARLY MAY 2026 - DATES TO BE RELEASED IMMINENTLY *
Join us in Carmel, California, for a five day masterclass on landscape photography.
Carmel's photographic history is of course legendary, being centered around the Carmel Big Sur area of California.
It has been home to such masters as Ansel Adams, Edward Weston, and Imogen Cunningham.

As well as digging deep in to the art and craft of landscape photography, we will also focus on creating panoramic work and working with medium format technical cameras and digital backs.
There will be a full range of ALPA cameras, lenses and accessories available, for anyone to test and try out if they so wish, including the legendary ALPA Pano.

We will have private use of the hotel’s meeting room, where I will be running daily master classes on the many aspects of landscape photography.
Broadly speaking I'll discuss and explore the Art, Craft and Process of landscape photography, as well as the important topic of inspiration.

DAILY MASTERCLASSES
1/ Introduction talk - 'A journey into landscape photography' I talk about my career as a professional advertising photographer and how this lead to my passion for landscape photography.
2/ 'My approach to landscape photography' I explain my approach to landscape photography, from both a technical and psychological point of view.
3/ ‘Light, composition and on camera filters' I discuss the use of light and composition and illustrate my use of filters. In particular the use of ‘on camera’ neutral density (ND) grads.
4/ 'Inspiration' One of my favourite topics. I talk about the work that has inspired me over the years and delve in to a broader discussion of inspiration.
5/ 'Working with technical cameras & creating panoramic landscapes' I explain my approach to panoramic work, using shift, stitch and panning methods and explain the many benefits of working with technical cameras.
6/ 'Post production and printing' I demonstrate my approach, processes and techniques on post production, and discuss the importance of printing.
