Danuser, Gaudenz
HORTUS SPATIALIS – The Geography of Silence
Gaudenz Danuser conceives of the garden as a spatial structure and a stage for the hidden.
In his Nocturnes, darkness swallows the familiar and gives rise to new, intimate landscapes of silence.
The carefully directed light stages the nocturnal vegetation not as plants, but as
monumental architecture—raw, archaic, and of timeless gravity.
This search for the essence leads to silent tectonics. Here, the floral becomes a geological
fragment, a solitary element in a world of light and sediment. A mineral geography emerges
that leaves its botanical origins behind to become sculpture.
An invitation to discover silence as a monument.
