Achromatic Revisited

Originally published October 2013Product Page [/en/article/alpa-12-fps|ALPA 12 FPS]ALPA's Ralph Rosenbauer brought back some marvelous images taken with the Phase One IQ260 achromatic from his trip to China. All "Achromatic China" photographs were taken with the ALPA 12 FPS and Rodenstock/HR Alpagon 5.6/70 mm lens on the standard Phase One IQ260 achromatic (without IR cut filter) but with various selective filtering. The "Achromatic Berlin" series resulted from the last Saturday's inhouse event at ALPA representative "Fotopioniere" in Berlin. These photographs were taken with different lenses on a Phase One IQ260 achromatic digital back with fixed built in IR cut filter. It features also a sample taken with the Canon EF 85 mm f1.2 II L USM on the ALPA 12 FPS.The images were developed in Capture One 7.1.4. The series "Achromatic Berlin" uses no special treatment but standard sharpening. The results achievable with this combination enthralled us with their outstanding and crisp renderings and details.
